Storks have a virtually cosmopolitan distribution, remaining absent in the poles, the vast majority of North America and huge portions of Australia. The centres of stork range are in tropical Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, with eight and six breeding species respectively. Just 3 species are existing in the New Globe: Wooden stork, maguari stork and jabiru, which happens to be the tallest flying chicken on the Americas.
Most storks are located in flocks apart from over the breeding year, whenever they pair off. They feed during the day. Most eat small animals caught in shallow h2o and fields. Some, similar to the marabou stork of stork Africa plus the adjutant stork of India, feed totally on carrion.
